Job Summary

The Senior Wireless Technology Engineer serves as a subject matter expert for the design, implementation, support, and optimization of wireless enterprise technology solutions. This role independently manages complex configurations, integrations, and enhancements, collaborating closely with other technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet organizational standards.

Essential Functions
  • Leads complex technology configuration, customization, and integration activities across enterprise platforms.
  • Designs and implements system enhancements that improve usability, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoots high-impact system issues and coordinates resolution across technical teams.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation, system diagrams, and process flows.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and analysts.
  • Supports testing, release management, and environment validation processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering; or the equivalent required
  • 5-7 years of experience in technology systems engineering or related information technology disciplines required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting large-scale, high-density controller-based wireless networks and CAPWAP tunneling mechanisms, preferred
  • Deep knowledge of IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), channel planning, client performance optimization, and integration methodologies, preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco enterprise wireless platforms (AireOS and IOS-XE), Central vs. FlexConnect modes, and Catalyst Center integrations, preferred
  • Practical understanding of RF physics, signal health metrics (RSSI, SNR, CCI), and Wi-Fi frequency bands, preferred
  • Proficiency in 802.1X EAP-TLS/PEAP authentication, RADIUS protocol, and enterprise NAC management (Cisco ISE or similar), preferred
  • Strong knowledge of core enterprise switching dependencies, including VLAN tagging, trunking, PoE, and AP discovery mechanisms, preferred
  • Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Real-Time Location Services (RTLS), BLE infrastructure, and indoor asset-tracking via Cisco Spaces, preferred
  • Experience conducting predictive, passive, and active RF surveys (e.g., Ekahau) to determine optimal AP placement, antenna selection, and capacity density, preferred
  • Proven ability to pivot rapidly during critical incidents, strictly adhere to change control protocols, and execute maintenance with zero unbudgeted downtime, preferred
  • Deep technical expertise within assigned technology domains and system integration methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for complex technology environments.
  • Proficiency with scripting or automation tools used for system configuration and management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results with minimal supervision.
