Engineering Lead
Contract (1-Year, Option to Convert) Remote – CST Hours Preferred

Job Description We''re looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to head a small, high-performing development squad responsible for delivering end-to-end digital capabilities across web, mobile, and backend systems. You''ll own a full patient-facing "journey" — from requirement gathering through production — and serve as the connective tissue between product, architecture, and engineering execution.
What You''ll Be Responsible For
- Leading a cross-functional squad across web, mobile, and API development
- Driving architecture and design decisions for a unified digital platform
- Translating product requirements into technical plans and delivery commitments
- Owning sprint execution, estimation, and production readiness
- Conducting and leading thorough PR reviews with a high bar for code quality, testing, and security
- Coordinating cross-squad dependencies with clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and timelines
- Partnering closely with Product to clarify scope, assess feasibility, and ensure business intent is met
- Leveraging AI-assisted tools and agent workflows to improve team productivity and code quality
- Championing CI/CD, automated testing, and observability best practices
Required Experience & Skills
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years in a technical lead, architect, or team leadership role
- Hands-on experience with React Native, C#, and APIs
- Strong Azure experience (required — environment is fully Azure-based)
- Architectural experience in distributed or cloud-based systems
- Experience managing cross-team dependencies in complex delivery environments
- Agile delivery experience
- Heavy product involvement — comfortable in requirement gathering and story refinement
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and shape solutions, not just execute
Nice-to-Haves
- Epic or other EHR integration experience
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and agent-based workflows
- CRM system integration experience
Education Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Pay & Benefits Summary
- $80/hour – W2 only
