Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Developer to join our Sustainability Engineering team. This role combines software development, data engineering, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will build and maintain data pipelines, develop internal tools, and support sustainability data management initiatives.

This position offers direct exposure to front-office investment professionals, requiring both strong technical capabilities and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly while maintaining high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting Sustainability Engineering workflows.
• Build and enhance internal applications and tools used for sustainability data management, reporting, and analytics.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using Python and SQL.
• Work with Snowflake databases to manage, transform, and optimize data workflows.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across multiple systems and business processes.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code.

Data Management

• Structure, organize, and manage large datasets to ensure reliable access across applications and workflows.
• Implement data validation and monitoring processes to maintain data integrity.
• Support reporting and analytics initiatives by delivering accurate and timely data solutions.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner directly with investment professionals and front-office stakeholders.
• Communicate project status, timelines, risks, and technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proactively identify challenges, manage expectations, and provide timely updates.
• Adapt quickly to changing business priorities while maintaining focus on long-term objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of software development or data engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python development.
• Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Experience building ETL/Data Pipeline solutions.
• Experience working with relational databases and large datasets.
• Strong understanding of Git and version control best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, front-office business environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Snowflake Data Warehouse.
• Exposure to sustainability, ESG, financial services, investment management, or asset management environments.
• Experience with data modeling and data quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering practices.
