Responsibilities
- Support full life cycle engineering design and development activities
- Develop system requirements specification for the overall system including verification plans
- Generate overall system architecture to satisfy functional, reliability, and safety requirements
- Execute software engineering tasks - including (but not limited to) requirements analysis, systems modeling (SYSML), architecture design, trade studies, design review support, integration planning, test, verification, risk management, and engineering analysis.
- Serve as a resource to others within the work group, department, and the organization.
- Effectively communicate with program managers, planners, and technicians.
- Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Drive tasks to completion independently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Software, or similar) with 2 or more years related experience or master's degree in engineering with 1 or more years related experience.
- Hardware and software integration experience
- C/C++, Python, and/or Java programming Experience
- Experience with CAN bus systems (J1939, CANopen, etc...)
- Experience with design and/or implementation of controls, especially related to vehicle controls/diagnostics/communication
- Hands on mechanical ability/understanding of vehicle systems
- Experience with computer architecture and networking
- Experience in a DoD environment and model-based systems engineering preferred.
- Effective technical writing and presentation skills.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
