- Perform board bring-up and debug using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and programmers/JTAG tools.
- Set up and run functional, environmental, and validation tests per written test plans, and record results accurately.
- Build and maintain test fixtures, cabling, and bench setups.
- Identify, isolate, and report faults. Support root-cause analysis with the design engineers.
- Document work: test reports, rework records, build notes, and redlines to drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
- Support design changes and release by checking builds against documentation and flagging discrepancies.
- Work with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to resolve build and component issues.
Required qualifications

- Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills at the component and board level.
- Clear written documentation and good communication with engineers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic scripting or data-logging tools.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with FPGA or microcontroller boards, including programming and debugging with vendor tools.
- Familiarity with high-speed digital, power electronics, or automotive electronics.
- Experience with SPI/I²C/UART, or similar interfaces.
- Basic Python or shell scripting for test automation.
- Experience in an ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 environment.
- Familiarity with PCB design tools (KiCad, Altium) for viewing and making minor edits.
Skills and attributes
- Detail-oriented and methodical, with a habit of recording what was done and why.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Able to manage several tasks and prioritize against project deadlines.
- Committed to safety and quality.
Physical requirements
- Extended work at a lab bench, with use of magnification or microscope.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional overtime or flexible hours to support test and build schedules.
