About the Role
Our client, a leading organization in the healthcare and health insurance industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support large-scale business initiatives that drive operational excellence, client growth, and strategic transformation. This is a business-focused project management role that partners with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver complex programs, oversee client implementation and renewal activities, and ensure organizational readiness for change.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing enterprise-level business projects, facilitating collaboration across departments, and delivering results in fast-paced environments. This position is not focused on IT project delivery but rather on business operations, process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and implementation management.
Job Description
The Senior Project Manager will lead and support complex, cross-functional initiatives that enhance organizational programs, improve business processes, and support client onboarding and renewal activities.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage and coordinate complex business projects and programs involving multiple stakeholders, departments, and external partners.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
  • Facilitate implementation and onboarding activities for new clients and support renewals for existing clients.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement through clear communication, status reporting, and change management activities.
  • Coordinate resource planning, vendor relationships, contract administration, and budget tracking.
  • Monitor project performance and outcomes, identify improvement opportunities, and support future-state planning.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships across business units and with external stakeholders.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and data-driven recommendations for leadership.
  • Develop and manage project KPIs, dashboards, and value-realization metrics to measure progress and business impact.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies, and barriers to successful delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to project governance standards, including stage-gate processes, RAID management, dependency tracking, and readiness assessments.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality business solutions within aggressive timelines while maintaining stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Perform additional project and program management responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field. (In lieu of a degree, an additional two years of relevant project management experience may be considered)
  • 5+ years of professional experience managing projects and/or programs in a business environment.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders in healthcare, health insurance, managed care, or related industry experience.
  • Strong project planning, organization, and execution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results within established timelines.
  • Experience tracking project metrics, deliverables, risks, and dependencies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and clients.
Preferred
  •  
  • Experience supporting client implementation, onboarding, or account transition initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving internal and external customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Experience developing and managing project dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting.
  • Familiarity with project governance frameworks, PMO practices, and readiness assessment processes.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and analytics/reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, build stakeholder alignment, and drive informed business decisions.
