This position is hybrid. The selected candidate must work onsite in Reston, VA once per week, with occasional meetings in Washington, D.C. The remaining work can be performed remotely.
Overview
Work with a leading enterprise organization undertaking a high-priority, multi-system cloud transformation. As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in provisioning AWS infrastructure resources, automating deployments via Terraform, and migrating on-premises workloads into secure, scalable AWS environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provision, configure, and maintain core AWS cloud resources using Terraform automation.
Support end-to-end cloud migration initiatives, including lift-and-shift moves, containerization of applications, and refactoring workloads for AWS.
Collaborate directly with Solution Architects, Development teams, and CI/CD engineers to take applications through to production.
Conduct root-cause network and infrastructure troubleshooting across VPCs, Security Groups, Transit Gateways, and application logs to resolve connectivity or performance bottlenecks.
Assist in containerizing applications and managing containerized workloads within Amazon EKS environments.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of overall technical experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to AWS cloud platform engineering.
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience utilizing Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Proven hands-on expertise with core AWS services: EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, EBS, EFS, ALB/NLB, IAM, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
Strong background in system engineering or administration with demonstrated ability to perform deep infrastructure and network troubleshooting.
Willingness and ability to attend a mandatory in-person interview in Reston, VA and work standard EST business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Active AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator).
Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
Exposure to AWS AI/ML services such as Amazon Bedrock or Amazon SageMaker.
