Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a contract position with a Technology Company located in Burlington, MA. This is a 3-4 month contract opportunity.
Pay $75.00 - $85.00ph W2 DOE This is an immediate, short-term engagement to support several critical network initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a senior-level engineer with deep hands-on expertise in large-scale enterprise networking, including Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto platforms, as well as hybrid cloud environments spanning AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
Responsibilities: - Lead, maintain and support hybrid cloud networking strategies leveraging AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, and multi-region connectivity
- Architect and lead implementation of scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions across global data centers, cloud environments, and corporate sites
- Design next-generation data center fabrics using EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, and spine-leaf topologies
- Develop hybrid cloud networking strategies leveraging AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure
- Oversee lifecycle management of core network infrastructure, including Cisco Nexus, Juniper QFX, and Palo Alto firewalls
- Define standards for wireless architecture, including predictive site surveys, RF planning, and performance optimization
- Drive automation and orchestration initiatives to streamline network operations
- Lead global network operations workflows, ensuring high availability and performance
- Establish proactive monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols for critical infrastructure
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, topologies, and CMDB entries
- Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to implement segmentation and threat detection strategies
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network infrastructure
- Partner with engineers for remote data center operations, including cabling and hardware deployment
- Engage with Engineering, Cloud, and IT teams to support product launches and infrastructure scaling
Requirements: - Experience in enterprise network engineering within a lead or principal role
- Expert-level knowledge of Cisco Nexus 9K/7K, Juniper QFX, and Palo Alto NGFW platforms
- Proven experience designing and deploying EVPN/VXLAN fabrics and BGP-based architectures
- Strong understanding of cloud networking and direct interconnects across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
- Experience managing global network environments across multiple regions and time zones
- Strong experience with network troubleshooting, optimization, and operational support
- Excellent communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills
Desired skills: - Certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent expert-level credentials
- Experience with network automation tools and languages, including Python, Ansible, and Terraform
- Familiarity with VPN technologies and Zero Trust architectures
- Knowledge of network observability tools such as NetBox, Grafana, and SolarWinds
