Overview
We're looking for
an experienced IBMi (AS/400) Systems Administrator to support a highly critical enterprise environment. This
role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on operational environment, enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, and
takes pride in maintaining system reliability, performance, and security.
You'll play a key role in day-to-day system operations, performance optimization, and incident resolution within a collaborative
team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain IBMi systems (OS/400, i5/OS) to ensure uptime and performance
  • Perform system health checks, job monitoring, subsystem management, and message handling
  • Apply PTFs, firmware updates, and OS upgrades through change management processes
  • Manage user profiles, system security, and resource allocation
  • Support backup, restore, and storage operations (including tape and archival processes)
  • Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and system-level issues; analyze logs and performance data
  • Partner with vendors for hardware maintenance and issue resolution
  • Support disaster recovery and data protection processes (TSM, Cohesity, etc.)
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support

Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of IBMi (AS/400) systems administration experience
  • Strong experience with:
    • OS/400 / i5/OS
    • CL commands
    • IBMi hardware support
    • PowerVM
    • Storage management concepts
  • Experience with job scheduling, system monitoring, and backup tools (BRMS or similar)
  • Solid understanding of IBMi security, user provisioning, and authority management
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve system and performance issues
  • Strong documentation and change management experience

Nice to Have
  • Experience with TSM, Cohesity, or other backup tools
  • Exposure to PowerHA, MIMIX, RobotHA
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, FTP, ODBC)
  • Experience supporting ACBS or commercial banking systems

  • Onsite initially for training, with flexibility for 100% remote work after ramp-up

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
