responsibilities:
- 12+ experience in Oracle Database Administration / Performance Engineering / Replication Engineering across multiple platforms -- Linux and Engineered systems.
- Experience working in a large database hybrid environment that includes both on-prem and public cloud resources
- Experience working with DevOps team to build/configure/debug pipelines and automation
- Experience working on various Cloud Options (AWS/Azure - fully managed/IAAS) including practical expertise in migrating databases from on-premises to public cloud
- Experience in building and deploying data solutions in AWS and Azure
- Designing and implementing highly resilient Oracle database platforms, using distributed database
- A good understanding of Oracle RAC related performance challenges
- Experience in configuring alerts and monitors using tools like Data Dog, OEM and OTEL to create a highly available platform
- Strong experience in production support and maintenance of high availability database systems with ability to manage large scale database projects, including participation in US on-call schedule
- Expertise in Golden Gate replication on Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) & Exadata
- Expertise and experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools such as GitHub, Artifactory and Jenkins
- Think innovatively and have the ability to automate various administrative tasks using the Python, Groovy, Jenkins, Java, and/or shell scripting skills
- Ability to evaluate and propose best-of-breed tools and engineering best-practices
- Experience and comfort in working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Experience in mentoring and coaching other engineers on the team
- An advocate for software engineering best practices and principles
- Passion for continuing education
- Participates in Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Assists in backlog grooming and sprint tracking using Jira and Confluence
- Coordinates with engineering, QA, and design teams to ensure alignment on sprint goals and deliverables
- Implement and enforce database security measures, ensure compliance with data governance policies, and manage access controls to safeguard sensitive data
