Reliability Engineer, PrincipalMACOM is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Reliability Engineer to join our team, focusing on the qualification of MACOM's diverse portfolio of RF & microwave semiconductor products for Satcom, Aerospace and Defense, Data Center, Telecommunication and Industrial applications. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert with a passion for execution of product qualifications across a diverse range of semiconductor technologies, packages, modules and systems.
Responsibilities:- Generate qualification plans in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Design and build circuit boards, test fixtures, and software for qualification tests.
- Perform qualification stress tests, pre- and post-stress DC and RF electrical testing.
- Perform advanced analysis on test data and present clear data-driven reports.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams in conducting comprehensive reliability analyses including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and failure rate predictions to identify potential failure modes, assess risk priorities, and develop mitigation strategies throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Coordinate qualification testing at external labs (as required)
- Support failure analysis related to qualification tests (as required)
- Manage resources and timelines to meet development schedules and business goals
Qualifications: - BS or MS degree in EE/ECE, ME, Physics, Materials Science or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience as a reliability engineer, familiar with Aerospace and Defense reliability requirements
- Solid knowledge of semiconductor device/circuit/module/system reliability, RF circuit design and testing, failure modes, related to compound semiconductor technologies (GaAs, GaN and SiGe, etc.)
- Familiar with industry standards and procedures, including JEDEC, MIL-STD, Telcordia, IPC, ECSS.
- Proven experience with environmental stress testing methods and equipment, including Thermal vacuum (TVAC), Shock, Vibration, Constant Acceleration, Temperature Cycle, Radiation testing, EMI/EMC.
- Experience with Burn-in, Accelerated Life Test, HTOL, and their related PCB design, test fixture design and setup, and PCB/PCBA fault finding.
- Knowledge of FMEA, FMECA and failure rate prediction methodologies with hands-on experience using industry-standard approaches (MIL-STD-1629A, IEC 60812, and MIL-HDBK-217) with the ability to apply statistical models and reliability prediction tools to assess component & system-level reliability performance.
- Experience with Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) and Failure Analysis methods and tools such as X-Ray, CSAM, cross-section, IR imaging, EDS, De-lidding, die shear, lap shear, bond pull tests.
- Able to analyze and present data using tools (e.g. MS Excel, JMP, Minitab). Experience with ADS, Altium Designer, Windchill, Python, R, LabVIEW, Visual Basic is a plus.
- Experience with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters.
The Salary Range for this position is $97,800 - $166,600.Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors, includingbut not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education,and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
