Position Overview

Centillion is seeking a Technical Life Sciences Consultant – Pharma / Business Translator to support a leading AI and analytics organization.

This is a highly specialized role at the intersection of Life Sciences, Pharma, AI, Data, Architecture, and Engineering.

The ideal candidate will have significant Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical consulting experience combined with strong expertise in modern data platforms, AI and data transformation, Databricks, AWS, Data Vault 2.0, dbt, Python, Spark/PySpark, and SQL.

This is not a generic Data Engineer, Databricks Engineer, or AWS Architect position. We are specifically looking for someone who can understand complex Life Sciences business requirements and translate them into scalable AI and modern data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with senior client stakeholders to understand business, analytical, and technology requirements.

• Translate Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical business problems into scalable AI and data solutions.

• Lead client workshops and communicate complex technical concepts to business and executive stakeholders.

• Define modern data architecture and data platform strategies for Life Sciences organizations.

• Design and support AI and Generative AI modernization initiatives.

• Develop data architecture patterns using Databricks, AWS, Data Vault 2.0, and modern data engineering technologies.

• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, data scientists, and business teams.

• Support the design of AI foundations, governance, operational layers, and contextual data layers.

• Provide technical leadership throughout architecture, implementation, and modernization programs.

• Present recommendations and solution approaches to VP-level and executive stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall professional experience.

• 5+ years of Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical consulting experience.

• Strong experience working with Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, or Life Sciences organizations.

• Strong Databricks experience.

• Strong AWS production experience.

• Strong understanding of modern data architecture.

• Hands-on experience with Data Vault 2.0.

• Experience with dbt Core or dbt Cloud.

• Strong Python, Spark/PySpark, and SQL skills.

• Experience with AI modernization, AI transformation, or Generative AI initiatives.

• Understanding of AI foundations and data/AI governance.

• Strong client-facing consulting and business translation skills.

• Experience conducting client workshops and requirements discussions.

• Experience working with senior stakeholders, including VP and Executive Director-level stakeholders.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

AWS Experience

Strong production experience with AWS services such as:

• Amazon S3

• AWS Glue

• Amazon Redshift

• Amazon EMR

• Amazon DynamoDB

• AWS Lambda

• Amazon Athena

• Amazon Kinesis

Candidates should be able to demonstrate practical experience using multiple AWS services within production data and analytics environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automate_dv or similar Data Vault automation frameworks.

• Experience designing enterprise-scale Life Sciences data platforms.

• Experience supporting Commercial, Research & Development, Supply Chain, or Enterprise functions within Pharma/Life Sciences.

• Experience translating business requirements into technical architecture.

• Experience working with Fortune 500 or large global pharmaceutical organizations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will demonstrate a combination of:

Life Sciences / Pharma Consulting + Business Translation + AI/Data Transformation + Databricks + AWS + Data Architecture + Data Vault 2.0

Candidates with only Databricks, AWS, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or AI/ML experience without substantial Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical consulting experience will not be considered.

Similarly, candidates with Life Sciences experience but without strong modern data architecture and technical capabilities will not meet the requirements.

Compensation

Up to $150,000 base salary + 15% annual variable bonus

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.
