Plex A&O (Administration & Optimization) Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Top Consulting is looking to hire a Plex Administration & Optimization (A&O) Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for the ongoing administration, support, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform (ERP/MES). This role serves as the functional expert across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, inventory, finance, and production operations, ensuring the Plex environment supports business objectives while driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
o Administer and maintain the Plex ERP/MES environment.
o Configure users, security roles, permissions, workflows, and system settings.
o Manage master data including part numbers, BOMs, routings, suppliers, customers, inventory locations, and production resources.
o Support software updates, regression testing, and release management.
o Maintain system documentation, configuration standards, and change control procedures.
o Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through Plex functionality.
o Recommend and implement process improvements that increase productivity, quality, and operational performance.
o Partner with business leaders to standardize manufacturing processes across multiple facilities.
o Evaluate new Plex features and determine business value.
o Serve as the primary escalation point for complex Plex functional issues.
o Troubleshoot ERP and MES production issues while minimizing operational disruption.
o Work closely with manufacturing, quality, inventory, purchasing, logistics, finance, and customer service teams.
o Coordinate with Rockwell Automation/Plex support and third-party implementation partners when necessary.
o Lead system enhancement initiatives from requirements gathering through deployment.
o Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to improve operational workflows.
o Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Plex capabilities.
o Develop KPIs and dashboards to measure system performance and operational effectiveness.
o Support integrations between Plex and external applications including EDI, WMS, MES, quality systems, CRM, and financial applications.
o Collaborate with technical teams on APIs, data interfaces, and automation initiatives.
o Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions using Plex reporting tools or Power BI.
o Develop user training materials, work instructions, and system documentation.
o Deliver end-user training for new functionality and business processes.
o Provide ongoing coaching and support to business users across manufacturing locations.
Qualifications:
o 7+ years of experience supporting Plex ERP within a manufacturing environment.
o Deep functional expertise across Plex ERP/MES modules.
o Experience administering Plex security, configuration, and system maintenance.
o Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, inventory management, purchasing, quality, and supply chain processes.
o Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
o Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
o Bachelor''s degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
o Experience with Plex implementations or major optimization initiatives.
o Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, and ISO/IATF standards.
o Experience integrating Plex with Power BI, SQL, APIs, EDI, or middleware platforms.
