Job Title: Sr. DevOps Platform Engineer
Locations: Carlton, TX / Agoura Hills, CA (4 positions)

Responsibilities
The Senior Platform Engineer will:
Design, implement, and manage scalable, resilient infrastructure on AWS
Architect and maintain Windows and Linux environments with seamless cloud integration
Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform (OpenTofu) and AWS CloudFormation/CDK
Manage configuration of Windows servers using Chef
Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD for .NET applications
Implement and enforce security best practices across infrastructure and deployment processes
Collaborate with development teams to provide platform engineering expertise
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues
Implement monitoring and logging solutions for system visibility and proactive issue detection
Contribute to documentation, standards, and best practices
Stay updated with latest trends in cloud, DevOps, and security
Mentor and guide junior team members
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles
Hands-on experience with AWS
Strong experience with Windows Server administration in cloud environments
Experience with IaC tools (Terraform/Open-Tofu and AWS CDK)
Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Experience deploying and managing .NET applications
Strong understanding of cloud security best practices
Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls)
Experience with monitoring/logging tools (New Relic, CloudWatch, Prometheus, etc.)
Strong scripting skills (Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Bash)
Experience with Chef configuration management
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform certifications
Strong scripting in PowerShell, Python, and Ruby (Chef)
Experience with AWS EC2 features (Auto Scaling, Warm Pools)
Experience building Windows server images using Chocolatey and Packer
Strong experience with IIS and Windows Server tools
Additional Technical Skills
Chef:
Experience with Chef (versions 17/18), cookbook-centric approach, and Chef Supermarket
Focus on Windows environment configuration
SQL:
SQL clustering for high availability
Automation of database tasks
Experience with AWS RDS and EC2-hosted SQL
DNS & Networking:
Microsoft DNS and AWS Route 53
AWS VPC (Transit Gateway, routing, endpoints)
Active Directory:
Administration and security best practices
Domain, forest, trust relationships
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
