Commissioning Manager

Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 + bonus
 

About the Role

Innovar Group is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager for a long-term data center construction program supporting multiple large-scale campuses in the Northern Colorado and Cheyenne, WY region. This is a strong opportunity for a commissioning professional who wants to be part of a high-growth market with several years of active project work already underway.

The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on commissioning experience within data center environments and a strong understanding of how to manage complex building systems across multiple phases of construction.

Project Overview

This team is supporting multiple data center campuses, including projects for major hyperscale and colocation clients. 

This is a highly active environment with long-term visibility, including several buildings already completed, projects currently wrapping up, new buildings breaking ground, and additional work being bid.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities for large-scale data center construction projects.

• Manage commissioning processes across multiple buildings and project phases.

• Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, engineers, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.

• Oversee commissioning schedules, documentation, testing, reporting, and issue resolution.

• Ensure building systems are installed, tested, and performing according to project requirements.

• Support commissioning planning from early construction through turnover.

• Identify risks, gaps, and deficiencies and drive follow-through to resolution.

• Maintain a high level of detail and organization across multiple active priorities.

• Provide clear communication to internal teams, client representatives, and project leadership.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of focused commissioning experience.

• Data center commissioning experience is required.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems within mission-critical environments.

• Experience managing commissioning activities on large, complex construction projects.

• Ability to work across multiple buildings, campuses, and project phases.

• Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation, tracking, and follow-up skills.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work onsite in the Northern Colorado / Cheyenne, WY region as needed.

Preferred Background

• Experience with smaller commissioning firms or specialized commissioning consultancies.

• Prior experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical data center projects.

• Experience working on multi-building campus environments.

• Strong understanding of commissioning requirements for electrical, mechanical, and controls systems in data centers.
