Role Overview

A motivated and technically curious Platform Engineer is sought to join our team. This is an opportunity for a recent college graduate or early-career technology professional to gain hands-on experience supporting mission-critical Foreign Exchange (FX) trading platforms. The Platform Engineer will work with senior engineers, product owners, business partners, and production support teams to learn the FX business while contributing to application support, testing, automation efforts, and platform improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of Foreign Exchange (FX) trading products, workflows, and business processes.
• Learn and support key FX technology platforms including Aphelion, WallStreet Systems (WSS), Caplin, and associated integrations.
• Participate in day-to-day application support activities under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist with functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
• Investigate and troubleshoot production incidents and application issues.
• Use SQL to query, analyze, and troubleshoot application and business data.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve team productivity.
• Work closely with technology, operations, and business partners.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline.

Experience: 0-3 years of technology experience.

Technical Skills: Must have Platform Engineering, QA Testing, a working knowledge of SQL, and familiarity with relational databases and object-oriented programming concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or co-op experience in software development, technology operations, infrastructure, or application support.
• Banking experience is preferred, particularly in Capital Markets.
• Exposure to Python, Java, .NET, JavaScript, REST APIs, or Git.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Interest in financial markets, trading systems, or banking technology.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first year, a successful candidate will develop a working knowledge of FX trading workflows and business processes. The candidate will become proficient in supporting key FX applications, independently perform testing and validation activities, and contribute to production issue investigation and resolution efforts. Success includes building useful automations that reduce manual work and demonstrating effective use of AI and modern productivity tools.
