Job DescriptionThe Security Field Engineer II is responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and support of security systems, including Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Detection Systems, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and engineered drawings. This role provides technical leadership in the field, supports project planning and execution, and ensures projects meet company quality and safety standards. The position requires extensive travel, up to 90% or more as business needs dictate.
Revised Job Duties and Responsibilities Review project documentation, drawings, specifications, RFPs, and service manuals to support project planning, execution, and closeout.
Maintain accurate project documentation, system configurations, backups, and service records.
Communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders, project teams, and management regarding project status, scheduling, labor requirements, and material needs.
Troubleshoot and diagnose system and equipment issues, including testing system functionality, verifying field installations, and validating connections and labeling.
Interpret advanced system drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Create shop drawings and submittals as required.
Manage and perform technical field work with minimal supervision.
Provide technical leadership and support to field technicians, project managers, and service personnel throughout project execution.
Oversee technical project execution, ensuring compliance with design requirements, installation standards, and customer expectations.
Perform system testing, quality assurance inspections, commissioning activities, and punch list completion.
Support project closeout activities and ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
Assist sales teams with technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer consultations when required.
Direct and mentor technicians on proper installation methods and best practices to ensure quality system performance.
Utilize networking knowledge to support system deployment, integration, and basic network troubleshooting.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Certification in at least two (2) of the following Video Management Systems:
- Genetec
- Milestone
- Avigilon
- Lenel OnGuard
- ExacqVision
Experience with:
- Access Control System programming
- Data Center environments
- Fiber optic systems

Minimum of 24 months of supervisory, lead technician, or project leadership experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
Strong understanding of computer networking concepts and basic network administration and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Teams) and Bluebeam Revu.
Ability to use and maintain required hand tools and test equipment.
Must meet company driving requirements and maintain a valid driver's license.
