Performs highly complex to advanced (senior-level) computer systems analysis and data development work. Responsible for developing Extract, Transform, Load/Extract, Load, Transform (ETL/ELT) processes to load data from a variety of sources into the enterprise data. Responsible for creating data sources, reports and dashboards to support the data needs of ERS. Assists with data warehouse maintenance; and data integration across multiple data sources, including large data file processes.  Supports agency-wide data analysis through soliciting and writing requirements. Ensures data quality within the data warehouse. Designs reports and dashboards using a variety of reporting tools. May provide guidance to others. Work is performed under minimal supervision of the Data Management Services Team Lead with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

 

Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Performs data warehouse development work including data warehouse design, data modeling, and metadata design; creating systems to store and manage large volumes of data from various sources.

·        Works closely with business subject matter experts (SMEs) to research and reverse engineer the rules that govern business processes, corresponding data streams, and associated source systems.

·        Translates business needs into technical designs for business intelligence solutions.

·        Contributes to the long-term vision of the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) by delivering Agile solutions

·        Develops efficient ETL to load the Enterprise Data Warehouse and makes timely data available to business users.

·        Supports the EDW solution should failures occur.

·        Contributes to and follows best practices established by the governance council and data stewards.

·        Perform root cause analysis to resolve data integrity and reporting issues.

·        Designs, deploys, and manages standardized, centralized data sources for enterprise use.

·        Implements and maintains business intelligence security best practices including those related to HIPAA.

·        Provides training and support on data use and business reporting, especially through the use of tools like Tableau.

·        Assists with establishing best practices for development, testing, migration and error handling.

·        Assists in the development and maintenance of documentation; ensures that documentation is well organized, complete, and appropriate for the audience. 

·        Assists with the development, testing and release of data warehouse processing.

·        Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Other Duties:

  • May interact with outside vendors providing data.
  • May assist in evaluation of third-party service providers.

 

Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Developer V performs the essential functions for EDW Developer IV at an elevated level with increased responsibility and:

·        Leads the long-term vision of the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) by delivering Agile solutions.

·        Supports the long-term vision and strategic direction of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) by leading and coordinating enterprise-wide initiatives.

·        Mentoring others on development and application support.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications: Your application for employment must reflect how you meet each of the following minimum qualifications:

1.      Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, computer science, or a related field. A technical diploma (in a related field) issued by an accredited technical institution may substitute for 60 semester credit hours.  Qualifying experience beyond the minimum required may substitute for education.

2.      Four (4) to five (5) years’ experience (depending on classification) in data analysis and research of enterprise grade systems such as HR, Benefits, and Payroll (PeopleSoft, Workday, SAP, etc.)

3.      Four (4) to five (5) years’ experience (depending on classification) writing SQL across Oracle, MS SQL Server or other database platforms

4.      Four (4) to five (5) years’ experience (depending on classification) working between business stakeholders and Information Systems Division resources

 

Preferred Qualifications: Your application for employment should reflect how you meet the following preferred qualifications:

5.      Experience in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) model development, including designing, implementing, and deploying predictive or analytical models to enhance enterprise data solutions and support decision-making.

6.      Experience mentoring or providing technical oversight to analysts or developers and reviewing code, design, and data models.

7.      Experience with PeopleSoft Pension, HRMS, or Finance modules and healthcare claims data.

8.      Experience with dimensional data modeling, star schemas, Kimball methodology, and OLAP/SSAS cubes including MDX queries.

9.      Experience leading the design, modernization, or expansion of an enterprise data warehouse or data mart architecture.

10.   Experience establishing and enforcing data governance, metadata management, and enterprise data quality standards.

11.   Experience serving as technical lead on cross functional data initiatives or large-scale system integrations.

12.   Experience Python, R, or other analytic/statistical tools for data processing and analysis.

13.   Experience with BI tools such as Tableau or SSRS, and BI architecture.
