We are looking for an experienced
Lead Database Engineer to spearhead our cloud modernization journey by transforming legacy databases into scalable cloud-native solutions. The role centers on migrating databases, optimizing performance, and ensuring seamless integration with cloud services, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, efficient systems.

Responsibilities
- Lead migration of databases from SQL Server to PostgreSQL Aurora, ensuring data integrity and performance
- Modify and optimize stored procedures for compatibility and efficiency in PostgreSQL Aurora
- Utilize modernization tools to accelerate database migration and transformation
- Implement best practices for database performance tuning, data access, and security in a cloud-native environment
- Collaborate with application developers to optimize the data access layer for cloud-native architectures
- Support functional and performance testing to ensure database stability and responsiveness
- Work with database consultants to validate and execute migration strategies
- Document migration strategies, key findings, and technical validation results
- Ensure adherence to cloud provider guidelines and best practices throughout the migration process
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in database management and operations
- Minimum of 1 year of experience leading and managing technical teams
- Strong experience with both SQL Server and PostgreSQL/Aurora databases
- Proficiency in database migration tools and techniques, such as AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
- Proven ability to write and optimize stored procedures for performance
- Experience with cloud services, particularly database solutions
- Understanding of best practices for database optimization, security, and performance in cloud environments
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting database testing and validation
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- English level B2+ for effective communication
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS Aurora and related cloud-native database solutions
- Familiarity with AWS Transform or similar modernization tools
- Exposure to large-scale application modernization or cloud migration projects
- Knowledge of cloud-native data access patterns and architectures
- Background in optimizing legacy systems for cloud environments
- Certification in AWS or cloud database technologies
- Experience with performance monitoring and tuning in cloud platforms
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards for cloud databases
