Summary

Responsibilities

This CAD Designer/Drafter will focus on supporting NAVWAR clients, providing comprehensive engineering documentation and technical drawing support for globally-distributed naval information technology infrastructure. The candidate will develop and maintain detailed technical drawings and documentation for complex IT systems, network architectures, and cybersecurity frameworks while ensuring compliance with government and industry standards. The position supports engineering services for Navy Enterprise Networks with emphasis on creating mature work products that facilitate system implementation, troubleshooting, security assessment, and sustainment of fielded IT systems across the naval enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, edit, and maintain engineering documentation packages and installation drawings for globally-distributed Naval Enterprise Networks
  • Support Information Technology engineering functions across the full IT Lifecycle including infrastructure, network systems, and enterprise management services
  • Develop technical documentation for complex system specifications, interfaces, and performance parameters
  • Perform peer review and QA of drawings to ensure compliance with Government and industry standards
  • Assist with installation processes and procedures documentation to provide mature work products
  • Support engineering documentation for cyber security assessments, authorization, and Risk Management Framework
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, network engineers, and IT specialists on technical documentation
  • Conduct online research for equipment specifications when required
  • Implement changes to drafts promptly based on feedback from engineering, clients, and shipyards
  • Work under tight scheduling to successfully develop and deliver drawings within schedule requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of technical documentation and CAD design experience (OR Associate's Degree and 6+ years OR High School diploma and 9+ years)

  • Experience with AutoCAD and engineering documentation
  • Experience with IT systems documentation and network diagrams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Installation Requirement Drawings (IRDs), Installation Support Drawings (ISDs), Installation Control Drawings (ICDs), and Installation Design Plans (IDPs).
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance (active Secret clearance preferred)

  • Experience with ship and shore site surveys
  • Experience supporting Department of Navy projects
  • Familiarity with NAVWAR
  • Knowledge of Navy SIPH
  • Active Secret clearance

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.
