About the Role

We are modernizing our enterprise data platform and seeking a Business Analyst with strong SQL expertise and exceptional communication skills. In this role, you will partner with business, technology, and analytics teams to translate complex data needs into actionable requirements, high-quality user stories, and detailed test plans. You will support large-scale data initiatives, drive clarity across cross-functional groups, and help deliver solutions that improve data quality, operational efficiency, and compliance.

This assignment requires comfort working with complex, multi-system datasets and navigating ambiguous or long-term data challenges that require deep evaluation and strategic insight.
What You'll Do

• Lead the discovery, documentation, and validation of business and data requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear recommendations, including epics, features, and user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Drive Agile delivery processes: maintain product backlogs, support sprint planning, and facilitate cross-team alignment.
• Develop and execute test strategies, including functional, regression, and UAT test cases across multiple datasets and systems.
• Analyze sophisticated Data Management challenges and provide guidance grounded in policies, standards, and compliance expectations.
• Collaborate closely with business partners, engineers, product owners, and analytics teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management; equivalent experience through work, consulting, training, military service, or education is accepted.
• Advanced SQL proficiency, including writing complex queries.
• Experience authoring Jira user stories and supporting Agile teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Experience creating and executing detailed test plans and test cases.

Preferred Experience

• Advanced SQL query development
• Python automation or coding experience
• Experience in one or more financial sectors:
  • Banking / Finance
  • Commercial Banking
  • Investment Banking
