This role serves as the SAP QA Lead, responsible for driving quality assurance across FS-CD, FS-RI, SAP Business Partner (BP), Workflow, and FI-GL modules. The position oversees a blended onshore/offshore team and advances test automation strategies to improve speed, coverage, and reliability. Ideal candidates bring deep SAP module expertise and Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain knowledge, translating business requirements into risk-based QA approaches. Key priorities include expanding automation frameworks, establishing measurable QA standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to align testing with end-to-end processes and integrations (including Guidewire and other upstream systems). Although this is a lead role, hands-on involvement is expected to meet delivery commitments within a small-team environment.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quality Assurance Leadership:
o Proactively ensure that the delivered product is of excellent quality by implementing rigorous testing practices.
o Establish quality standards and best practices to minimize the likelihood of defects being identified by end users.
o Lead and mentor a geographically distributed QA team (onshore and offshore) that emphasized accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Test Automation Strategy:
o Design and execute an automation roadmap that scales test coverage without increasing headcount.
o Oversee creation, maintenance, and reliability of automated test scripts and frameworks aligned to project goals.
- Business Process Understanding:
o Master end-to-end business processes to ensure comprehensive coverage across SAP modules and integrations.
o Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to align testing efforts with business requirements.
- Test Case Development and Execution:
o Design, develop, and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
o Review test cases created by team members to ensure alignment with business goals and functionality requirements.
o Execute test cases and analyze results to identify issues and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Thorough Documentation and UAT Support:
o Document test case results thoroughly, including detailed descriptions of testing scenarios, steps, and outcomes.
o Present test case results to user acceptance testers (UAT) to build confidence in the quality assurance process and testing efforts.
o Reduce the amount of additional testing required during UAT by providing clear evidence of comprehensive testing coverage.
o Proactively identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring timely resolution by collaborating with development teams.
o Perform root cause analysis of defects and recommend improvements to avoid recurrence.
- Project Collaboration and Communication:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for QA-related activities within projects, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
o Collaborate with development, product management, and operations teams to establish realistic timelines for testing and delivery.
o Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
o Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in software testing and quality assurance.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
o Conduct risk assessments to identify potential quality issues and prioritize testing efforts accordingly.
o Ensure that potential risks are communicated to stakeholders with actionable mitigation plans.
o Define and track key QA metrics, such as defect density, test coverage, and automation progress.
o Provide regular reports to stakeholders on testing progress, quality metrics, and defect status.
o Team and individual metrics are to be reported on a monthly basis.
- Resource Planning and Allocation:
o Efficiently allocate resources across onshore and offshore teams to maximize productivity and meet project deadlines.
o Identify skill gaps within the team and provide training or development opportunities to address them.
o Act as an advocate for quality within the organization, ensuring that QA priorities are represented in decision-making.
o Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to review testing strategies, timelines, and outcomes.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of SAP QA Manager or Lead experience in FSCD, FS-RI, SAP BP, Workflow, and FiGL modules.
- Proficiency with SAP TOSCA Automation Tool and SAP Solution Manager (SolMan).
- Ability to create new test cases, analyze failures, and independently maintain/fix test scripts.
- Strong collaboration skills to work across various SAP teams and comprehend automation requirements.
- Minimum 2+ years of Business Analysis (BA)and/or Quality Analyst (QA) experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance sector.
- Experience in BA and/or QA application maintenance, enhancement, and Production Support in IT systems.
- Knowledge of SAP BAPI/RFC and integration experience with upstream applications, particularly Guidewire or similar Policy/Claim Administration Systems.
- Proficient in developing and reviewing test plans, scenarios, cases, scripts, and in bug/defect analysis.
- Experience with SAP ChaRM for release management and coordination with SAP BASIS teams for production deployments.
- A solid foundation in SAP and a thorough understanding of software testing life cycles.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience leading teams in an onsite-offshore working environment model.
- Knowledge of the insurance and/or reinsurance domain is a plus.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
