About The Role
We are partnering with a highly innovative technology organization to identify a seasoned Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their engineering team. This role will focus on developing high-performance, secure embedded networking solutions for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate brings a deep background in C/C++ development within embedded Linux environments and a strong grasp of network protocols and cybersecurity standards.

This is a high-impact, hands-on position requiring collaboration across agile, multidisciplinary teams. You’ll be part of a tight-knit group with direct visibility while benefiting from the backing of a larger infrastructure and resources.

REQUIRED: U.S. Citizenship and active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
Locations: Marlborough, MA; Carlsbad, CA; and Linthicum Heights, MD

Compensation

Salary: $160,000 – $255,000 annual (DOE)
Incentives: Annual bonus eligibility and a robust benefits package

Primary Responsibilities

Lead design and integration of embedded networking software, including device drivers and high-speed data protocols.
Drive development efforts within an agile team focused on secure communications products.
Implement and maintain scalable, secure Linux-based network systems.
Collaborate with cybersecurity experts to align solutions with evolving security requirements and certifications.
Contribute to continuous integration and testing strategies for embedded software deployments.
Support product development from initial architecture through integration and final certification.

Candidate Qualifications

10+ years of hands-on experience with C/C++ in embedded system development.
Deep expertise with Linux, including kernel module development and networking stack.
Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, IPSec, MACsec, TLS, etc.).
Experience with object-oriented design and agile scrum methodologies.
Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
US Citizenship is required; must be eligible for or hold an active Secret Clearance.
Willingness to travel up to 10% for collaboration and testing.

Preferred Experience

Exposure to advanced networking technologies such as DPDK or hardware acceleration.
Background with Xilinx tools (Vivado, Petalinux) and embedded device drivers.
Experience with microprocessor platforms like ARM, RISC-V, or NIOS.
Understanding of real-time systems and multi-threaded development.
Familiarity with network interface frameworks like RESTConf.
Python development skills and experience working in emulation environments.
