If so MAPFRE USA is looking for a self-motivated team player with a growth mindset to join the Data Engineering team as a Data Engineer. You will be part of the Data Engineering team and help MAPFRE in its transformation journey to become a true Data Driven Organization.

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and backend services that power MAPFRE USA's data platforms and analytical products. Responsibilities:

  • Build high quality cloud-native data APIs to enable secure and scalable access to enterprise data assets.

  • Implement API observability, including logging, performance monitoring, and data contract enforcement and monetization.
  • Mentor junior developers and team members.
  • Implement scalable and flexible, high performance data pipelines in AWS to support analytics.
  • Develop and maintain data maps and their relationships.
  • Generate associated technical documentation including follow-up reports.
  • Work with Data Governance to implement quality rules and data governance measures (data dictionary, metadata, traceability).
  • Propose and drive improvements and actions based on provided results.
  • Communicate results effectively with required teams.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Well versed in Python, Node.js, TypeScript and Java.
  • System and Design thinking.
  • Deep experience in building Data APIs, REST APIs and GraphQL.
  • Experience with data pipelines in python and glue.
  • Experience with MDM tools like Realtio, TAMR.
  • Experience with automated test frameworks and tools.
  • CI/CD and Orchestration: Jira, Jenkins, Github and Airflow.
  • Past experience with data modeling tools, ETL tools (e.g. Informatica Power Center, Glue).
  • Code IDE: Microsoft Visual Code, Github Copilot.
  • Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning are a plus.
