Job Title: Robotic Lab Technician

Location: Mountain View, CA (Remote)

Duration: 12+ Months

Experience Required: 4–6 Years


Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Robotic Lab Technician to support robotic systems, including 6 DOF cobot manipulators and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), in a lab environment. The ideal candidate will assist in assembly, testing, maintenance, and daily lab operations while ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

1. Lab Operations & Inventory Management

  • Manage and track robotic inventory (hardware, tools, parts, and equipment)
  • Maintain lab organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness

2. Robot Assembly & Maintenance

  • Assemble, reconfigure, and disassemble robotic systems and test setups
  • Perform basic electrical wiring, cable routing, and system checks
  • Assist in calibration and troubleshooting of robotic systems

3. Testing & Teleoperation Support

  • Support robot testing, data collection, and experimentation
  • Assist with teleoperation systems and remote robot control
  • Monitor systems and ensure proper functioning during operations

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain operational logs and documentation
  • Follow and enforce lab safety protocols and procedures

5. Collaboration

  • Work closely with robotics engineers and operators
  • Support project execution and lab-based experiments

Required Skills

Technical Skills

  • Experience with robotic, electromechanical, or automated systems
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD and layout drawings
  • Basic electrical knowledge (wiring, power systems, cable management)

Tools & Technologies

  • Exposure to Robotics Automation tools (e.g., Automation Anywhere – plus)
  • Experience with CAD tools (Unigraphics NX preferred)
  • Knowledge of plant/electrical design fundamentals

Core Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures
  • Hands-on mechanical skills (including repetitive tasks)
  • Organizational skills for inventory and asset management

Education

  • Associate degree or technical certification in:
    • Robotics
    • Mechatronics
    • Engineering Technology
    • Or equivalent hands-on experience

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in robotics labs, manufacturing, or industrial automation
  • Exposure to teleoperation or remote robotic systems
  • Familiarity with AMRs and cobot systems
