Project Manager (IT Infrastructure & Security Modernization)

Position Title: Consultant Project Manager (IT Infrastructure & Security Modernization)

Work Location:
Remote. Candidate may be required to travel quarterly to Cayce, South Carolina for project milestones and needs.

Candidate Location Requirement:
Must currently reside in the Eastern Time Zone.

Duration:
12 months with possibility of extension.

Interview Process:
Microsoft Teams. Top three candidates will be interviewed.

Position Overview:

This role is focused on managing IT infrastructure and cybersecurity modernization initiatives across enterprise environments. The Project Manager will coordinate with infrastructure, security, operations, application teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery aligned with security frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills:

1. 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager in IT initiatives.

2. 3+ years of experience with enterprise network infrastructure including LAN/WAN fundamentals.

3. 3+ years of experience with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework or comparable frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, or CIS Controls.

4. 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (Azure and AWS).

5. 3+ years of experience with Active Directory.

6. 3+ years of experience with Endpoint Management platforms.

7. 2+ years of experience with Azure DevOps, SharePoint, MS Project, and/or Excel.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience managing security or infrastructure projects within the public sector.

2. Experience with IT security and compliance requirements related to CDC, HIPAA, and CJIS.

3. Active PMP certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.

• Develop project documentation including charters, scope statements, schedules, risk registers, and status reports.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams across infrastructure, security, and business units.

• Ensure projects align with NIST and other cybersecurity frameworks.

• Monitor project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

• Provide executive-level status updates and reporting.

• Support audit readiness and compliance documentation efforts.

• Ensure adherence to agency IT governance and change management processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong background in infrastructure and cybersecurity projects.

• Experience working with NIST or similar compliance frameworks.

• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN, cloud environments, Active Directory, and endpoint management.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Able to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities.
