Overview:
Location: Albany, NY
Salary: $100,000 - $110,000

We are seeking an Java / Websphere Consultant who will support our client. This role will support the administration, integration, and ongoing stability of enterprise middleware platforms, with a focus on IBM WebSphere, App Connect Enterprise, and InfoSphere MDM in secure Linux-based environments. The selected candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining integrations and APIs, supporting deployments and upgrades, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring reliable connectivity across business-critical systems.

Duties:

• Administer and support IBM WebSphere, App Connect Enterprise, and InfoSphere MDM.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain middleware environments.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Manage middleware platforms on RHEL/Linux.
• Perform patching, security hardening, and system maintenance.
• Support Experian Address Validation, Symantec, OpenText Exstream, and Java APIs.
• Ensure secure integrations and connectivity between systems.
• Support releases, upgrades, and production deployments.
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Provide production and on-call support.

• Associates degree or combination of experience and education.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying integration flows using IBM App Connect Enterprise
• 1+ year of experience working in enterprise or government systems
• 3+ years of demonstrated experience with the following skills:
  • IBM WebSphere
  • IBM InfoSphere MDM
  • Java/J2EE
• Proficiency in developing, testing, and maintaining RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and event-driven architectures, including handling data formats/ transformation such as CSV, XML, JSON, and EDI
• Strong knowledge of current web security standards (e.g., WSSE, OIDC, OAuth, JWT) and ensuring compliance in integration solutions
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with architects, technical leads, and cross-functional teams (including Functional, Infrastructure, QA, and DevOps) to review and optimize integration architectures
• Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and secure file transfer via AWS Transfer Family; working knowledge of Amazon S3 and API Gateway
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex integration issues across development, test, and production environments
• Ability to write clear, detailed, and maintainable technical documentation
• Experience supporting third-party enterprise tools
• Understanding of SSL, certificates, and security configuration
• IBM certifications
• ITIL/ITSM knowledge
