Position Overview

Fusion Innovation is seeking a mid-level Web Developer to support critical web infrastructure and application development projects. The selected candidate will work across the full development lifecycle, creating and enhancing websites, web applications, services, and APIs. This position requires a versatile developer who can contribute to both front-end and back-end solutions while collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable, user-focused applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain websites and web applications.
  • Write source code for new applications and enhance existing applications and software.
  • Develop front-end interfaces, back-end services, middleware, and APIs.
  • Build and maintain database-driven applications using MySQL or comparable relational database systems.
  • Review existing code and recommend improvements to functionality, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot application defects and resolve technical and workflow-related issues.
  • Gather and analyze stakeholder requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve or automate business processes.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and release activities.
  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, designers, and other technical stakeholders.
  • Support and enhance content management system functionality, extensions, and integrations.

Required Skills

  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of relevant web development or software engineering experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Five or more years of experience developing websites or web applications.
  • Five or more years of experience using JavaScript and PHP.
  • Experience writing source code for new applications and reviewing or enhancing existing code.
  • Knowledge of relational database systems, including MySQL.
  • Experience working across front-end and back-end development.
  • Experience developing user interfaces, middleware, services, and APIs.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative technical environment.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with content management systems, particularly Joomla.
  • Knowledge of CMS plug-ins, modules, components, or extensions.
  • Experience building or enhancing web applications and APIs.
  • Experience developing or supporting applications in AWS environments.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management and documentation tools.
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, responsive web design, and accessibility best practices.
  • Experience developing solutions for complex technical or business requirements.
  • Ability to gather client requirements and resolve workflow challenges through automation and process optimization.

Additional Details

Fusion Innovation anticipates the annual base salary for this position will generally range from $100,000 to $215,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to:

  • Years of direct applicable experience with this work and the customer
  • Relevant education, certifications, and training
  • Contract labor category requirements, skill level, contract bill rate, and hours allocation
  • Alignment with the position's responsibilities
  • Additional specialized skills

In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be considered for discretionary bonuses and are eligible for Fusion Innovation's comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, company-sponsored retirement contributions, paid leave, professional development opportunities, and other employee benefits.
