Position Summary

The SAP Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering all infrastructure-related activities required to support a large-scale SAP transformation program. This role serves as the lead for the SAP infrastructure workstream and partners closely with the Enterprise SAP Program Manager, SAP functional teams, Basis teams, security teams, cloud providers, and business stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment of SAP solutions across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading infrastructure activities for one or more enterprise SAP implementations, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, SAP BW, and related technologies in cloud, hybrid, or on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities

Program and Project Leadership

• Lead the SAP Infrastructure workstream within a multi-year enterprise SAP transformation program.
• Develop and manage infrastructure project plans, milestones, dependencies, budgets, risks, and resource plans.
• Partner closely with the SAP Program Manager to align infrastructure deliverables with the overall program schedule.
• Ensure infrastructure milestones support application, data migration, testing, cutover, and go-live activities.
• Provide regular status reporting to executive leadership, steering committees, and program governance teams.

Infrastructure Planning and Delivery

• Lead the design, provisioning, deployment, and operational readiness of SAP environments.
• Coordinate infrastructure requirements across:
  • SAP S/4HANA
  • SAP ECC
  • SAP Basis
  • SAP Fiori
  • SAP BW/4HANA
  • SAP BTP
  • SAP Solution Manager
  • SAP Ariba, SuccessFactors, Concur, or other SAP products
• Manage environment strategy including Development, QA, Integration, UAT, Training, Pre-Production, and Production landscapes.
• Coordinate infrastructure build activities for cloud, hybrid, or on-premise environments.
• Manage data center, hosting, network, storage, compute, and database infrastructure requirements.

Cloud and Platform Coordination

• Lead infrastructure activities with cloud providers and managed service partners.
• Coordinate deployment activities across:
  • Microsoft Azure
  • AWS
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • SAP RISE
  • Private cloud environments
• Ensure scalability, performance, availability, and disaster recovery requirements are met.

Technical Governance

• Collaborate with SAP architects, enterprise architects, Basis teams, and security teams.
• Manage infrastructure design reviews and technical decision forums.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards and cybersecurity requirements.
• Oversee high availability, backup, recovery, and business continuity planning.

Testing and Go-Live Support

• Coordinate infrastructure readiness for:
  • System Integration Testing (SIT)
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Performance Testing
  • Cutover
  • Production Go-Live
• Lead infrastructure components of mock cutovers and dress rehearsals.
• Ensure production support teams are prepared for post-go-live operations.

Risk and Issue Management

• Identify and mitigate infrastructure-related risks.
• Escalate critical issues and dependencies to program leadership.
• Manage vendor deliverables and third-party service providers.
• Track infrastructure-related RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) items.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of IT project management experience.
• 5+ years managing infrastructure projects supporting SAP implementations.
• Experience leading infrastructure delivery for at least one large-scale SAP implementation (SAP S/4HANA preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation programs valued at $10M+.
• Experience with SAP RISE migrations.
• Knowledge of:

  • Identity and Access Management
• PMP certification.
• PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or SAP certifications.
• Experience in heavily regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, or utilities.
