Job Summary

Serves as the voice of the customer and business within Agile development teams, ensuring that technology solutions align with business needs and deliver maximum value. Responsible for defining, prioritizing, and refining the product backlog while working closely with Product Managers, Business Owners, and Scrum Teams. Key operational leader within the SAFe framework, the Product Owner ensures that Agile teams remain focused on delivering high-priority features while maintaining strong stakeholder alignment.

Essential Functions

• Backlog Management
  • Ensure backlog items are clearly defined, refined, and properly scoped for development teams.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to align backlog priorities with the broader product roadmap.
• Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
  • Act as a primary liaison between Business Owners, Product Managers, and Agile Teams.
  • Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into actionable user stories.
  • Ensure continuous stakeholder engagement, providing transparency into progress, risks, and upcoming features.
  • Partner with Business Owners to validate that product features meet business goals and customer needs.
• Agile Execution & Team Support
  • Act as Scrum Master to ensure development teams remain focused and unblocked.
  • Serve as a servant leader and coach for Agile teams, fostering a collaborative and self-organizing culture.
  • Provide detailed acceptance criteria and collaborate with developers to clarify requirements.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Ensure Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) are well-understood and consistently met.
• Workflow Documentation & Business Analysis
  • Develop and maintain workflow diagrams, process maps, wireframes, and other business analysis artifacts to support Agile development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document current and future-state processes, identifying areas for optimization.
  • Support impact analysis and system documentation for new product features and enhancements.
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with Agile best practices and is easily accessible for development teams.

Required Experience

• Bachelor s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Product Manager
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, Marketing, and/or Power Platform.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem solving with root cause analysis experience.
• Experience working within the SAFe framework
• Experience with user stories, process maps, user journey maps, and similar tools.

Preferred Experience

• SAFe Certification (e.g., SAFe PO/PM)
• Strong understanding of Dynamics 365 Sales, Marketing, and Power Platform modules and processes.
• Background in project management, change management, or business analytics,
• Functional domain expertise with sales, marketing, business operations, finance and/or accounting.
• Able to identify and articulate existing/as-is process models while identifying aspects of data and technology actions needed to accomplish the desired end state.
• Experience with Microsoft DevOps is highly desired.
• Candidates located in the Washington, DC metro area or Chicago are preferred.
