Software Engineer I (P2) Production AI (Developer Support)
Location: Redwood City, CA (Hybrid)

About the Role
The Production AI team serves as Client s AI enablement function, accelerating adoption of AI tools and platforms across the organization. As a Software Engineer I, you will support internal developers by operating AI systems, resolving technical issues, and improving developer experience through automation and documentation.
This is a hands-on, service-oriented engineering role at the intersection of AI platforms, developer support, and system operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide frontline support for AI tools and APIs via Slack and internal channels
- Monitor, triage, and resolve developer issues in a timely manner
- Operate and maintain internal AI services ensuring reliability and uptime
- Troubleshoot APIs, integrations, and AI systems; perform root cause analysis
- Develop and maintain technical documentation (FAQs, guides, runbooks)
- Identify repetitive issues and build automation/workflows to improve efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to escalate and resolve issues
- Contribute to minor feature development, bug fixes, and system improvements
- Participate in on-call rotations and operational support activities
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong programming skills (Python, TypeScript, Java, or similar)
- Experience working with APIs and debugging production systems
- Basic knowledge of cloud environments and DevOps practices
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and customer-focused mindset
- Ability to work independently on well-defined tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini)
- Exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, or agent-based systems
- Experience supporting internal developer platforms/tools
- Experience writing technical documentation
- Scripting/automation experience (Python, bots, workflows)
- Knowledge of observability tools (logging, metrics, alerting)
