Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Description:
Designs, develops, and tests electrical devices and equipment, including communications systems, power generators, motors, navigation systems, and electrical systems for automobiles and aircraft. Oversees the manufacturing of these devices, systems, and equipment. Designs new ways to use electrical power to develop or improve products. Performs detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications. Directs manufacturing, installation, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure that products meet specifications and codes. Investigates complaints from customers or the public, evaluates problems, and recommends solutions. Works with project managers on production efforts to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget. Designs electronic components, software, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, medical, military, or scientific applications. Analyzes customer needs and determines electrical system requirements, capacity, and cost to develop a system plan. Develops maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment. Evaluates systems and recommends design modifications or equipment repair. Inspects electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations. Plans and develops applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance.
Background/Need:
The Group focuses on delivering new advanced technology capabilities in timelines typically under a year. Projects are conducted in a closely-knit team environment consisting of various subject matter experts, leveraging resources from multiple groups to successfully execute fast-paced demonstration efforts.
The electrical-engineering-centric candidate should have the following skills (highest to lowest importance):
Electronics design for:
- Low power and battery-operated systems
- Analog circuits & sensors
- Digital circuits, digital interfaces, sensors
- Embedded software development for microcontrollers
Experience with:
- Electro-optics
- RF sensors and communication protocols
- Printed Circuit Board (PCB) schematic capture and layout tools
- NVidia Jetson GPU products
- Ability to architect, design, and program FPGA inputs and systems
- FPGA debugging and prototyping
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test analog and digital electrical circuits and systems
- Architect and implement FPGA-based solutions
- Conduct PCB schematic capture, layout, and fabrication
- Integrate embedded microcontrollers and software for electrical systems
- Develop test procedures and perform validation for electrical devices and subsystems
- Troubleshoot circuit designs and optimize performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for fast-paced project execution
- Document design specifications, test results, and system modifications

- 3+ years of experience with analog and digital circuit design
- 3+ years of FPGA programming and debugging experience
- 3+ years of PCB design and layout experience
- 3+ years of embedded microcontroller programming
- 3+ years experience with RF and microwave circuits
- 3+ years experience with signal processing, ASICs, VLSI, and mixed-signal circuit design
- 3+ years experience with experimental and hardware control software
Preferred:
- Master s degree with 3+ years experience or BS with 5+ years experience working in small engineering/software teams
- Experience with NVidia Jetson GPU platforms
- Experience with electro-optics and advanced RF systems
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field required
- Master s degree preferred
Other:
- Clearance: Interim clearance is sufficient, with potential to clear to Top Secret if required by future projects
- Work Location: Candidates will be 100% onsite with some flexibility for personal situations; remote work is not typically expected
