Job DescriptionThe UW Pediatrics, IT team has an exciting opportunity for an Endpoint Systems Administrator to join their team. This position operates 4 days in office and 1 day remote.POSITION PURPOSEUW Pediatrics mission: Through excellence, innovation, and collaboration, we will improve the health of all children and adolescents and reduce inequities by educating the pediatric and physician leaders of the future, advancing research, advocating for children, and providing the nation's best primary and specialty pediatric clinical care. This role serves as the primary IT support contact for faculty and staff, ensuring security, compliance, and smooth operations across Windows, MacOS, and Linux client systems.
Key responsibilities include centralized endpoint management, technical and lifecycle support, and adoption of cloud-based tools (Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom). The position also implements secure systems for remote support, navigates complex affiliations with partner organizations, and safeguards sensitive data (HIPAA, FERPA). Strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills are essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEndpoint Management & Support (30%)- Provide hardware and software support for Windows, MacOS, and Linux endpoint devices, including deployment, migration, and secure decommissioning.
- Manage IT asset management system accuracy, lifecycle processes, and standard configurations.
- Develop automation scripts (PowerShell/Bash),solutions for hybrid workspaces and specialized research equipment.
Systems & Server Administration (50%)- Administer endpoint devices using MECM and JAMF; manage software distribution, updates, and compliance reporting.
- Maintain Active Directory groups, group policies, and workstation configurations.
- Implement secure print services, small networks, and firewall devices; collaborate with Windows and Linux systems administrators and vendors.
- Create and administer Microsoft SharePoint and Teams sites.
- Automate workflows for asset data integration and ensure adherence to security standards.
Video Conferencing (10%)- Configure and maintain collaboration spaces for Zoom, Teams, and WebEx.
- Develop and maintain training resources and scheduling solutions; oversee daily AV operations and vendor coordination.
Training & Documentation (10%)- Create technical guides, videos, and SOPs; maintain documentation library and knowledge base.
- Analyze support trends to improve training and end-user resources.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field and 2 years of relevant experience OR equivalent education/experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS - 2 years of experience of supporting Windows and MacOS end-user computing devices in an Active Directory environment.
- 2 years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 products.
- 2 years of experience with videoconferencing products e.g. Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams.
- 1 year of experience coding with PowerShell and/or Bash scripting.
- 1 year of experience with Windows Server technologies and operating systems.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT - Ability to travel to all Department of Pediatrics work sites when required including Sand Point, Seattle Children's Hospital and Springbrook locations.
- Work schedule is primarily day shift hours. Some occasional off-hours or weekend work may be required.
- This position is primarily on-site initially but will have some hybrid working opportunities after the initial training period.
- Must be able to regularly lift 40 pounds.
