Job Summary The Azure Database Architect will participate in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of Azure databases and Data Lakes, with a primary focus on Data Lakehouse solutions and integrated data repositories. This role is responsible for designing, administering, maintaining, and securing data platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize data workflows, support data-driven decision-making, and implement best practices for data security, integrity, and performance. The position also provides technical mentorship to architects and database engineers. Key Responsibilities Analyze, design, develop, implement, and support Azure databases and Data Lake solutions. Design and maintain Data Lakehouse architectures and integrated data repositories. Administer, maintain, and secure relational and non-relational databases in Azure. Develop and implement data transformation solutions and cloud infrastructure integrations. Develop, code, test, and maintain scripts for loading data using Azure data load utilities. Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for database and data platform deployments. Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot Azure database performance and infrastructure. Utilize Azure Monitor, Azure Data Factory, SQL Analytics, Query Performance Insight, Azure Resource Manager, Pearl, and Azure CLI/PowerShell for infrastructure management. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies using Azure Backup, Geo-replication, or similar technologies. Implement role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and network security best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data workflows and support business objectives. Mentor architects and database engineers on Azure database technologies and best practices. Required Qualifications Strong experience designing, developing, and implementing data lakes and relational and non-relational databases in Azure. Strong experience with Databricks. Strong experience with Oracle databases. Experience developing and implementing data transformation solutions and cloud infrastructure integrations. Experience coding and testing programs and scripts to load data using Azure data load utilities. Experience with CI/CD pipelines. Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts. Experience with Azure Monitor, Azure Data Factory, SQL Analytics, Query Performance Insight, Azure Resource Manager, Pearl, and Azure CLI/PowerShell. Experience developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies using Azure Backup or Geo-replication. Experience implementing role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and network security. Strong organizational and time management skills. Approximately 10 years of experience in data architecture or data management. Knowledge of data concepts, data modeling, schema design, and indexing strategies. Knowledge of Azure SQL databases, managed instances, and elastic pools. Knowledge of Data Warehouse Administration and Teradata Data Warehouse. Experience supporting Child Welfare or Child Support systems. Education: Bachelors Degree
