Summary

OpenShift Platform Engineer
Hybrid: Columbus, OH (Relocation works)

OpenShift Platform Engineer (Primary focus: APIM Self‑Hosted Gateway on OpenShift)

Role Purpose
Own the deployment, upgrade, and operational stability of Azure APIM self‑hosted gateway running on OpenShift, ensuring zero consumer impact and production‑grade reliability.
Must‑Have Experience
Strong hands‑on OpenShift experience (mandatory)
- OpenShift 4.x administration
- Routes, Services, SCCs, NetworkPolicies
- TLS termination (edge / passthrough)
- Pod security & RBAC
Kubernetes expertise
- Helm‑based deployments & upgrades
- Rolling upgrades & rollback strategies
- Resource tuning, probes, scaling
APIM Self‑Hosted Gateway
- Gateway architecture & lifecycle
- Upgrade planning and version compatibility
- Certificate management (gateway ↔ APIM)
- Troubleshooting gateway connectivity issues
Observability
- Pod logs, events, health checks
- Integration with Splunk / Dynatrace / Prometheus
Production support mindset
- Runbooks
- Incident triage
- Root cause analysis

Key Responsibilities

Upgrade APIM self‑hosted gateway on OpenShift
Ensure no impact to consumers during upgrades
Validate routing via F5 / WAF / ezGateway paths
Harden gateway deployment (security, scaling, HA)
Enable L2/L3 support readiness
