Schedule: On-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (hours may shift based on test cell timing; maximum 8 hours per day)
Pay Range: $42.00 - $50.00/hour
Job Description: Seeking a Controls Engineer 2 to support the calibration, design, analysis, and validation of engine control systems in both simulation and real-engine environments. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in feedback controls, MATLAB/Simulink, and root cause problem solving who enjoys hands-on testing and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities Calibrate engine control systems in simulation and on-engine test environments.
Analyze engine performance data and present findings to technical teams.
Design, test, evaluate, modify, and calibrate control systems and related instruments.
Perform control system design and analysis using MATLAB/Simulink.
Troubleshoot hardware and process issues using structured root cause analysis methodologies.
Support electrical and control system development while adhering to project schedules, safety objectives, and engineering requirements.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; applicable graduate-level education may be considered equivalent experience.
Experience with feedback control of dynamic systems.
Proficiency in control systems design and analysis using MATLAB/Simulink.
Strong problem-solving skills utilizing root cause analysis techniques.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with engine controls calibration and validation.
Internship or professional experience related to engine controls systems.
Experience working in laboratory, test cell, or engine development environments.
