Position Summary

We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to drive product enhancements, develop next-generation technologies, and design robust hardware and software platforms for process control, communication, documentation, and critical operational systems. In addition to core engineering responsibilities, this team member will play an integral role in supporting and fulfilling wash site operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Programming: Program automated controls systems to optimize wash operations-managing precise timing, equipment performance, and parameter sensing while prioritizing system safety.
  • Standards & Documentation: Establish, maintain, and document system standards, including default settings, configuration profiles, startup procedures, operational checklists, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Testing & Quality Control: Test, validate, and document hardware and software performance; issue clear technical communications and quality support bulletins.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Assist with site-level operational needs and carry out additional technical duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications & Attributes
Technical Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Control Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • Core Skills: Hands-on experience developing ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagram programs for industrial control systems.
  • Hardware & Components: Demonstrated capability implementing, configuring, and testing industrial sensors, actuators, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) like Schneider Electric Altivar series.
  • Preferred Software Experience: CODESYS, Ignition, Machine Expert, or Control Expert.
  • Preferred Network/Communications: Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and IO-Link communication protocols.
  • Bonus Skills: Familiarity with Linux, Python, Docker, CSS, or automated vehicle wash systems.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
  • Environment: Primary work occurs indoors in a combined office and warehouse/assembly setting with minimal to no travel required.
  • Physical Capabilities:
    • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods (alternating sitting/standing) and move safely across office and warehouse environments.
    • Frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and operating computer/productivity equipment.
    • Ability to lift and maneuver items up to 50 lbs.
    • Capacity to work around loud machinery and vibrating assembly tools when needed.
    • Reliable commuting capability in various weather conditions and ability to drive locally between facilities/vendors if required.
