Job Description
We are seeking a Network Support Engineer to join our dynamic team for a short-term onsite engagement in Laurel, MT. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Cisco networking across enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and perimeter security and a proven ability to maintain network stability, resolve incidents, and ensure operational continuity.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day operational support for local site network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and perimeter security.
- Monitor, log, track, and resolve network incidents and performance issues, escalating when appropriate.
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for outages, latency, and connectivity issues.
- Support and maintain network hardware and configurations, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
- Assist with moves, adds, changes, and configuration updates following established change and security processes.
- Maintain and update network documentation and Visio diagrams to reflect current-state configurations.
- Collaborate with central IT, vendors, and site stakeholders to ensure reliability and minimal disruption.
- Follow security, patching, and vulnerability management processes for network devices.
- Provide knowledge transfer and operational handoff documentation at engagement conclusion.
- Work occasional off-hours as needed to minimize production impact.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 2+ years supporting enterprise network environments.
- Hands-on experience with LAN architecture, VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Ability to communicate technical issues to IT and non-IT stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Cisco networking experience (CCNA or equivalent knowledge) really is a MUST
- Firewall experience (e.g., Palo Alto), SNMP, syslog, SSH.
- Wireless networking support and network monitoring/packet analysis tools.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based operational support environments.

- Absolute requirement: Cisco network skills.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing appropriate PPE.
