Position Overview: You will provide 24x7x365 middleware operations and engineering support across web and application middleware platforms for integrated business services. You ll partner with application teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors to monitor platform health, respond to incidents, fulfill requests/changes, and lead troubleshooting/performance optimization while improving stability through patching, modernization, security hardening, and automation.

Responsibilities:

Provide operational support for middleware platforms: monitoring, incident response, and request fulfillment for integrated services.
Maintain platform currency/health: patching, capacity management, and runtime environment support.
Perform routine health checks; proactively identify bottlenecks and optimize middleware configurations.
Ensure incident/service request/change tickets meet response and resolution service levels.
Perform middleware troubleshooting and log analysis; lead deep-dive diagnostics for critical failures and drive permanent fixes (RCA).
Manage SSL certificates and related configuration updates.
Assist application teams with middleware deployments and runtime validation.
Configure and support connection pools, JMS, JNDI, and JDBC.
Support integrations with enterprise systems (databases, LDAP, SSO).
Configure user roles, groups, and access controls.
Provide middleware-level compliance/audit support; implement security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
Plan and execute upgrades and patching for IBM WebSphere and related products.
Architect and deliver middleware migrations of existing instances.
Develop automation/scripting for provisioning, monitoring, and self-healing workflows using IBM and open-source tools.

Key Qualifications and Skillset for this Role:

8+ years of hands-on experience supporting middleware technologies (WebSphere - Portal, Extreme Scale, jBoss, Tomcat, WebLogic, IIS, HIS, Apache HTTP, IBM HTTP Services, Nginx) in enterprise environments.
Strong middleware troubleshooting skills (log analysis, integration issue isolation, performance analysis/tuning).
Experience operating and engineering IBM WebSphere platforms, including upgrades and patch management.
Experience configuring middleware resources (JMS/JNDI/JDBC, connection pools) and supporting deployments.
Experience with SSL certificate management and integrating with LDAP/SSO and databases.
Strong scripting/automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) for operational efficiency.
Knowledge of high availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR), replication, backup/recovery, and failover strategies.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
