Job DescriptionThe Service Engineer I role is responsible for executing, testing, and validating enterprise-level hardware systems, devices, and peripherals in clinical, professional, and engineering environments.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with computer hardware components and a solid technical foundation to ensure systems perform reliably and remain compatible across different settings.
Key requirements include:- Practical experience with hardware components and strong technical skills.
- Ability to maintain optimal system performance, reliability, and interoperability in various environments.
Essential technical skills:- Proficiency with BIOS and firmware updates and installing operating systems.
- Familiarity with USB, Thunderbolt, Bluetooth, and video connections.
- Experience with device drivers and Windows troubleshooting tools.
- Basic understanding of hardware, software, networking, and wireless technologies.
Candidates must demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills across technical domains and be comfortable configuring, setting up, and deploying hardware from a range of vendors. The expectation is that you will work on site 80% of each week.
Responsibilities also include:- Thoroughly documenting and communicating test results, logs, and procedures.
- Managing multiple tasks efficiently and maintaining organized workflows.
Additional skills:- Experience or familiarity with device management platforms, identity and access management systems, and modern development or collaboration tools is highly valued.
- Applicants should be able to locate and gather reliable information using current search tools and technologies, while following industry standards and best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical for accurately documenting and clearly sharing procedures and results. Attention to detail and hands-on hardware experience are essential for success in this role.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities are necessary to maintain efficient workflows and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

- 1 or more years of related experience executing, testing, and validating enterprise-level hardware systems, devices, and peripherals
- Some experience in automation, specifically related to deployment, recovery, or other manual processes
Preferred Qualifications:- 1 or more years of experience in hardware validation, system integration, reliability/stress testing, and test automation
- Applies deep technical expertise and engineering best practices to conduct functional, performance, stress, and interoperability testing across complex systems.
- Rapidly troubleshoots and resolves sophisticated issues, performing thorough root-cause analysis and coordinating vendor escalations when needed.
- Collaborates closely with developers, testers, program managers, and clinical/IS stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality services and solutions.
- Leverages service KPIs, usage insights, and trend analytics to drive capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost-efficient resource modeling.
- Ensures systems remain resilient, secure, continuously monitored, and optimized for long-term stability and performance.
