Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Solutions Analyst to own business requirements from initial discovery through solution design, implementation and validation.
. The ideal candidate can work directly with stakeholders to understand business problems, translate ambiguous requests into well-defined requirements and solutions, and ensure those solutions perform correctly across real-world scenarios.
This is a hands-on technical role, but not primarily a software development position. Success requires strong analytical skills, sound technical judgment, and a rigorous approach to quality.
Responsibilities
Discover & Define
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand processes, challenges, and objectives.
- Translate ambiguous or incomplete requests into clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and actionable work items.
- Identify assumptions, exceptions, dependencies, and downstream impacts.
- Challenge proposed solutions when appropriate to ensure requirements address the underlying business need.
- Develop strong domain knowledge and evaluate requests within the context of broader business processes and systems.
Design & Analyze
- Design scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions that appropriately balance configuration and custom development.
- Understand and contribute to decisions regarding data models, objects and fields, validation rules, Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations, and automation.
- Determine the appropriate scope and execution context for business logic, including platform-level versus user-interface-specific behavior.
- Consider security, sharing, data integrity, governor limits, maintainability, user experience, and downstream system impacts.
- Favor simple, sustainable solutions over unnecessary technical complexity.
- Partner with engineers on more complex implementations while maintaining ownership of the work through completion.
Test & Validate
- Define and execute comprehensive test scenarios based on business requirements and solution design.
- Identify edge cases, failure conditions, unusual data states, permission differences, and integration scenarios.
- Perform hands-on functional testing of Salesforce changes.
- Validate that solutions address the underlying business requirement rather than simply satisfying the stated request.
- Investigate unexpected behavior and distinguish between requirements, configuration, data, and implementation issues.
Leverage AI & Modern Tools
- Use AI-assisted development tools to translate requirements into working solutions, including configuration, automation, data changes, and other technical implementations, while also accelerating analysis, solution design, and testing.
- Critically evaluate AI-generated output for accuracy and suitability rather than treating generated solutions as inherently correct.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the speed and quality of the delivery process through automation and AI.
Qualifications
- Strong requirements-gathering, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with stakeholders and independently drive ambiguous requests toward well-defined solutions.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce data models, objects, relationships, security, automation, and platform capabilities.
- Ability to write and interpret SOQL queries for data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Validation Rules, Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, APIs, and integrations, including an understanding of when each may be appropriate.
- Strong testing discipline and ability to anticipate edge cases and unintended consequences.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with AI-assisted tools and a willingness to incorporate them into day-to-day work.
