System Administrator - System Z - z/OS

Introduction:

The System Administrator for System Z - z/OS will be responsible for systems programming in a mainframe environment, including installation, configuration, tuning, and maintenance of operating systems and ISV products. The role will also involve SYSPLEX related skills, GRS understanding, and knowledge of VTAM and TCP/IP networking concepts.

Responsibilities:

• Installation, configuration, tuning, and ongoing maintenance of operating systems and ISV products
• SYSPLEX related skills
• Understanding of GRS
• Knowledge of VTAM and TCP/IP networking concepts
• Experience with z/OS and z/VM operating systems
• Experience with z/Architecture Mainframe hardware
• Experience in SMP/E
• z/OS and z/VM installation, configuration, and administration
• IODF/IOCDS/IOCP setup and configuration using HCD/HCM
• z/OS System Automation using IBM or ISV products
• Knowledge in REXX, Utilities, and Exit Routines
• JES2 commands
• Mainframe Security - RACF, Vertel, RACF Certificates and Keyrings
• ZFS understanding and conversion of legacy HFS to ZFS
• Experience with IBM/ISV Utilities and Tools

Requirements:

• 6-8+ years of experience in System Z - z/OS
• Experience with SMP/E
• Knowledge of z/OS, IBM OMEGAMON, IOCP, RACF, SMTP, and ZFS
• Experience in z/Architecture Mainframe hardware
• Experience with coupling facility
• Knowledge of z/VM installation, configuration, and administration (preferred)
