Position Summary
The Scrum Master / Project Manager II will support client SAP and Information Security teams on SAP Security initiatives, with an initial focus on General Access and Firefighter ID (FFID) management. This role is responsible for end-to-end project coordination and delivery, including project planning, backlog management, stakeholder engagement, status reporting, budget tracking, change control, issue and risk management, and coordination across matrixed teams.
The ideal candidate has prior SAP project management experience, familiarity with security and compliance domains, and the ability to manage work across both Agile and Waterfall delivery models. This role requires strong communication, facilitation, analytical, and organizational skills, along with the ability to proactively identify risks, manage dependencies, and drive continuous improvement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with Information Security and impacted SAP teams to define and manage project backlog, priorities, dependencies, timelines, and delivery plans.
- Establish and manage project plans across schedule, cost, scope, quality, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Coordinate project activities across matrixed teams using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery approaches as appropriate.
- Identify logical dependencies across multiple workstreams, determine critical path activities, and communicate key tasks and milestones to team members and stakeholders.
- Proactively identify variances to plan and develop mitigation or corrective action plans in partnership with project team members.
- Monitor project deliverables against approved scope, schedule, and budget, and escalate concerns with clear impact statements and recommended options.
- Identify, document, communicate, and manage project risks throughout the lifecycle, including gaining stakeholder alignment on risk response plans.
- Engage stakeholders at the appropriate level and cadence to support informed decision-making and timely issue resolution.
- Tailor communications based on audience needs and synthesize project information into concise, actionable updates.
- Maintain accurate project artifacts, including status reports, RAID logs, schedules, financial forecasts, decision logs, change requests, and communication plans.
- Record and monitor project actuals and forecasts against the project budget, escalating budget risks or financial impacts as needed.
- Recommend process deviations or adjustments when appropriate and gain consensus from impacted stakeholders.
- Leverage project management best practices, technical knowledge, and organizational awareness to mitigate delivery risks and improve outcomes.
- Mentor others on project management methods, practices, and tools, while actively seeking opportunities to improve delivery effectiveness.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Seven or more years of IT work experience, including significant experience managing technology projects.
- Prior SAP project management experience with a working understanding of SAP technology, integrations, and related technical requirements.
- Experience supporting projects in security, compliance, identity/access management, or related domains.
- Experience working in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, or similarly regulated industry preferred.
- Experience with Jira or similar Agile lifecycle management tools preferred.
- Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies required.
- PMP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, or related project management/agile certification preferred.

- Competent understanding of Waterfall methodology, values, processes, and governance.
- Competent understanding of Agile methodology, values, ceremonies, and delivery practices.
- Ability to manage complex projects with team-level integration points and cross-functional dependencies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with relevant business and project management tools, such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Clarity, Jira, or comparable platforms.
- Ability to balance openness to diverse perspectives with the ability to influence, facilitate decision-making, manage conflict, and drive alignment.
- Highly adaptable to changing priorities, ambiguity, and evolving delivery needs.
- Strong situational awareness, including when to listen, when to ask probing questions, and when to be appropriately assertive.
- Ability to communicate complex project information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.
