Federal Experience

Prior U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) experience is strongly preferred. Candidates without direct GPO experience should have strong, relevant U.S. Federal Government SQL DBA/database administration experience.

Position Overview

Arch Systems is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) / SQL Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a U.S. Federal Government project. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience administering, configuring, securing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server environments in complex enterprise or Federal environments.

The candidate should demonstrate strong expertise in database availability, disaster recovery, performance optimization, monitoring, automation, security, and application/database integrations.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have 8+ years of relevant SQL/database administration experience, with the following skills and experience clearly demonstrated on the resume:

• Microsoft SQL Server administration
• SQL Server Clustering
• SQL scripting and database automation
• SQL database design and configuration
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)
• Database backup and restoration
• SQL Server performance tuning and optimization
• Database and server installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching
• Troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue triage
• Database capacity planning and resource management
• Database monitoring, alerting, and operational support
• Database security, access controls, and compliance
• Scripting and automation of routine DBA activities
• ServiceNow ticket, incident, and request management
• Application and database integration support
• Experience supporting enterprise production database environments

Additional / Preferred Technical Experience

Working familiarity with one or more of the following technologies is highly desirable:

• Oracle Database
• PL/SQL
• PostgreSQL
• MySQL
• MariaDB
• Oracle Grid Infrastructure
• Oracle RMAN
• Microsoft Access

Experience troubleshooting SharePoint/database integrations is highly desirable, as this capability is specifically referenced within the project Statement of Work (SOW).

The successful candidate will be a senior-level database professional capable of independently managing complex SQL Server environments, resolving production issues, supporting application teams, implementing database best practices, and maintaining highly available, secure, reliable, and high-performing database platforms within a Federal Government environment.
