We are seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer to support the development of advanced aerospace systems. In this role, you will lead the design, modeling, simulation, analysis, integration, and verification of Guidance, Navigation, and Control solutions for complex flight systems, including aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, autonomous systems, and missile platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in control systems, simulation development, algorithm design, and software development using modern engineering tools and practices. This position requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop high-performance navigation and control solutions while mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, implementation, integration, verification, and testing of GNC algorithms and software solutions.

Develop, maintain, and enhance 6-Degree-of-Freedom (6-DOF) simulations used for flight algorithm design, analysis, and validation.

Perform guidance, navigation, and control system analysis for aerospace and autonomous platforms.

Define system performance metrics and evaluate mission effectiveness through simulation and modeling.

Conduct trajectory analysis, optimization studies, and performance assessments.

Develop mathematical models of dynamic systems and apply control theory techniques to solve complex engineering problems.

Integrate software and hardware components to support system-level testing and validation activities.

Optimize simulation and flight software for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Support integration, test, and flight readiness activities.

Present technical findings, risks, recommendations, and design trade-offs to engineering leadership and stakeholders.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on GNC methodologies, architectures, and best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including systems, software, integration, test, and mission analysis disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems development, analysis, modeling, or simulation.

Experience supporting aerospace, flight vehicle, missile, spacecraft, autonomous system, or similar complex engineering programs.

Proficiency in one or more of the following: C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Python

Experience developing software and simulation tools in a Linux environment.

Strong understanding of dynamic system modeling, control systems, and algorithm development.

Experience supporting system integration, verification, validation, or test activities.

Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience developing and maintaining 6-DOF simulations.

Strong foundation in control systems theory and guidance law design.

Experience with: Kalman Filters, Extended Kalman Filters (EKF), State Estimation Algorithms, Tracking and Discrimination Algorithms, PID Control, Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR)

Experience with Guidance Systems development for flight vehicles.

Familiarity with hypersonic systems or advanced aerospace applications.

Experience using Atlassian Jira and modern software development tools.

Knowledge of software version control, continuous integration, and software engineering best practices.

Experience presenting technical analyses and recommendations to engineering leadership.
