Our client, a large financial bank, is looking for a strong VDI Engineer with Omnissa Horizon experience. This is a long term contract position, sitting 3 days a week in Jersey City, NJ.
?? Key Responsibilities
Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Omnissa Horizon (formerly VMware Horizon) environments.
Oversee migration from legacy VDI platforms (Moonshot, Nutanix) to a unified Horizon-based architecture.
Integrate VDI with Workspace ONE, Active Directory, profile management tools, and endpoint management systems.
Provide Tier 3 technical support and perform root cause analysis for complex VDI incidents.
Develop automation scripts for desktop provisioning and application delivery (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
Monitor VDI performance and optimize system configurations to improve stability and user experience.
Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning for VDI platforms.
Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership for VDI-related projects and modernization initiatives.
?? The right candidate will possess:
Expertise in Omnissa Horizon architecture, performance tuning, and enterprise-scale deployments.
Strong understanding of Windows 10/11, AD, Group Policy, profile management, and endpoint integration.
Hands-on experience building modern VDI environments within global or regulated industries.
Strong analytical thinking and ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
Ability to collaborate with engineering teams across infrastructure, security, and operations.
?? Required Qualifications & Skills
7+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with 4+ years focused on VDI technologies.
Deep expertise in Omnissa Horizon (Instant Clones, App Volumes, DEM).
Strong Windows OS, Active Directory, GPO, and profile management knowledge.
Experience with Workspace ONE, thin clients, and hybrid laptop-VDI environments.
Proven experience with large-scale VDI deployments and performance optimization.
Excellent communication skills and documentation ability.
?? Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: VMware Horizon, Workspace ONE, or equivalent Omnissa credentials.
Experience with automation & scripting (PowerShell, Python).
Background in financial services or other regulated environments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $73.00/hr.
