POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Engineering Technician Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work. Works closely with development engineers, to create design prototypes and models. Troubleshoots prototype and model failures.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  • Perform a multitude of activities that match with engineering responsibilities.
  • Approving Engineering Change Orders, System Re-configurations,
  • Performing Lean 5S evaluation and line set up changes and ensuring team members are properly trained and have the necessary tools to perform their functions. Provide training on a wide variety of complex electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on complete integrated systems.
  • Work closely with highly skilled assembly and test technicians, in complete system builds by following methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units.
  • Work closely with the L3 Supervisor, and the Test and Manufacturing Engineering teams to make setups and adjustments in holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
  • Oversee the entire assembly and test processes as well as real time failure analysis to evaluate the electrical and mechanical characteristics of systems and/or integrated circuits, components, sub-components and systems to determine the cause of failure as well as appropriate actions and proper escalations for immediate correction.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 6 years related experience and Associates in Engineering preferred.
