JOB DESCRIPTION
This team is responsible for setting design and brand direction for digital products. We are responsible for the user experience and visual branding of a wide range of digital platforms (iOS, Android, web, tvOS, Fire TV, Xbox, Windows) for our sports, news and entertainment apps in North America. Our team oversees all phases of the design process, from concept to design production. We work closely with a brilliant team of product owners, engineers and business owners to apply strategic design solutions or insights to delight core users.
The PD will champion the art of digital production, executing and delivering detailed quality assets for our sports, news and entertainment brands across all our consumer products including web, mobile and set-top box devices. Working under the direction of our Sr. Production Design Lead, this role will support a varied number graphical production needs and requests and will interface daily with various internal teams such as project management, marketing, content operations and technology. The PD will not only support our demanding day to day operations but will also help shape ideal production workflows, help develop new graphical tool kits, and help articulate asset design standards on production matters.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Create, design and produce beautiful graphics and assets for live and on demand digital programming
Using a wide array of photoshop skills and techniques, generate and create art extensions, work and edit talent imagery, and manipulate color and layouts
Create, sculpt and design cohesive composite solutions from various source materials including photography, vector art and or motion stills
Produce components, graphics and elements required for production related tasks or projects
Have a passion for creating beautiful, high-quality design solutions and illustration systems across all devices including mobile web, living room and mobile apps.
Learn, apply and enforce design brand guidelines from shows, networks and digital campaigns
Work with our UX team to optimize, improve and polish asset design effectiveness
Work and coordinate daily with content teams on the delivery and deployment of all completed assets
Work with our directors, lead and project managers to define and optimize a daily delivery schedule
Research and explore image automation and optimization tools and techniques
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual design or related field
A strong portfolio showcasing your love for graphics production. A body of work highlighting examples of your Photoshop (PS) image editing skills and techniques.
Advanced PS skills including image creation, smart objects, image manipulation (extensions, creating composites, color correction, etc) and image output; you know PS better than you even know yourself
Digital tool kit or production/image tool kit experience
Experience building digital assets (at a large scale) for apps, marketing or social campaigns
Experience with using, applying as well as adhering to brand guidelines
Strong knowledge of other design software like Illustrator, XD and Sketch
Experience in fast paced, high volume, schedule demanding graphic environments
Ability to manage multiple projects at once
Extremely detail-oriented. No detail is too small for you. You help maintain a level of quality on every graphic you produce, elevating the product to a whole new level
An organized work personality. You keep track of your projects and their needs with ease; you organize files logically and you get giddy when thinking about naming conventions. You relish
Strong commutation skills. From drafting emails, responding on Slack to verbally communicating, you possess the skills to professionally and effectively communicate information to any team member
A self sustaining and independent work attitude. While ample guidance will be provided, you relish the challenge of the unknown and love to solve problems with sometimes minimal oversight.
Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, devices, techniques and technologies

This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
