Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year
A bit about us:A drilling equipment manufacturing company is hiring a Quality Engineer in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will know API-Q1 standards. This position has the opportunity to grow into a Manager and/or Director position within a year.

Job DetailsBachelor's degree in Engineering
Experience
3-7+ years of experience in quality engineering within:
- Oil & Gas manufacturing (preferred)
- Heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing
- Experience with drilling equipment, pressure-containing components, or machining processes is highly desirable
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings. GD&T
Certifications / Standards (Required)
- Strong knowledge of API Spec Q1 (10th Edition preferred)
- Experience working in an API Q1-certified organization or supporting certification
Familiarity with:
- ISO 9001 (baseline QMS standard aligned with API Q1)
Technical Skills
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, FMEA
- Statistical analysis and quality tools (SPC, Minitab, etc.)
- Blueprint reading and GD&T
- Audit experience (internal/external)
- Knowledge of machining, welding, and fabrication processes
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) - ASQ
API Q1 Internal Auditor training or certification
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Lean / Six Sigma certification
