termination, testing, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber-optic cabling systems in commercial environments. This role ensures all work meets project specifications, industry standards, and company quality expectations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, communication, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling including Cat5/Cat6 and fiber-optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode).
- Route cable through conduit, above ceilings, risers, and between floors according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, operation manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Identify and apply correct color codes for 568A, 568B, 6-strand fiber, 12-strand fiber, 25-pair, and 50-pair cabling.
- Provide, relocate, or modify cable pathways, modular connections, and termination points.
- Assist in the installation of communications hardware, including network devices, patch panels, and related equipment.
- Complete all assigned projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain high levels of professionalism, workmanship quality, and customer service.
- Submit all required documentation, test results, and project paperwork accurately and on schedule.
- Adhere to all company and project-specific safety requirements, including PPE usage and job-site protocols.
- Conduct field training, mentor junior technicians, and perform second-level problem evaluation using established procedures.
- Provide timely and accurate feedback to customers and management, documenting system issues and status updates.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to third-level technicians or vendors, collaborating to develop effective resolution plans.
- Identify recurring issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend process improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and team success.
